Swimming with grandma...

Grandma Walker came to visit this weekend...and we had a blast at the pool! We each had our own rafts to float in. Rylie had the best one by far...a lady bug! Pure joy.

Last weekend we traveled out to Yuma for Rylie to meet her Great Grandma Shepherd and her Great Auntie Barb. It was wonderful to see Grandma Shepherd light up and just smile with glee as she held her newest great grand-daughter. This was such a sweet and special memory.

Vegas, baby...Vegas!

On our return home from California, we cruised through Vegas for a few hours. Good times.

Huntington Lake

It was such a joy to finally introduce Chad and Rylie to my (Jennie's) family cabin...a place like no other in my book...a place I grew up going to, as did my mom, as did her dad. Here are some pictures of our time with my family at Huntington Lake in Northern California...the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountains. A place to hike, relax, play, and be a family...

This nest of Blue Jays was right beside our porch. We even saw the birdies first flight...or shall we say fall!



This HUGE tree fell near our cabin the second night we arrived. It shook the ground and made a long and loud "crack!"

A great week as a family!

Yosemite!

After two days of travel and over 1000 miles, we arrived in Yosemite! It was SPECTACULAR to see such incredible beauty in nature. We fished and did lots of driving and hiking around in the park. We could not get enough!

This was our first stop at a beautiful lake.

Here is where we stayed the night...a tent cabin in Yosemite where Rylie had her first camping trip!



The next morning we strolled through the Valley. Here she is in her latest stroller. I think she liked it!



We saw a dear along the way...



We strolled to the base of Lower Yosemite Falls.

Then we went to this place, toted as THE BEST VIEW IN YOSEMITE. A short hike to Glacier Point and this is what you see. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

What a great part of our vacation...and only the beginning. The joy was in the journey for sure!
