Easter Egg Hunt

At church today Rylie did her first Easter Egg Hunt of the season. SHE WAS TOTALLY INTO IT. Seriously...we had to hold her back from going after the eggs too early, and she cried at the restraint. Two minutes can be a very long time to wait when you are staring at the prize!

Needless to say, as soon as the mass of kids got the green light, she was off! I had a few parents ask me, "Is she always this excited?" Love it. Her basket was full within minutes. Wow, what a difference a year makes! (Last year she was totally into the toys that the eggs were on, and not as much the eggs!) Eventually, we did have to tear her away from the playground where the hunt took place...which caused another round of tears! Ha. You would have thought she went through a war zone by the looks of her as we left the church. She has a scrape up her leg that was bleeding, an even larger scratch on her upper thigh, her face was all dirty, her hair was chaos, and the entire front of her dress was soaking wet with dirty water...after she did a super-man fall/dive into a puddle in the parking lot (before the hunt!) Alas, what a way to spend a Sabbath!

Painting the Snow

Here we are...painting the snow with colored water from a squirt bottle. Simple pleasures. We did Red, Orange, Blue, Green, and Purple. Oh the creativity!

The Tale of Seven Eggs

Today was a snow day...which made for a perfect day to decorate Easter Eggs!!!!

Rylie, of course, was totally into it each step of the way. We started with 7 eggs...and 4 survived the process. Here is the journey of our Princess Easter Eggs.

What was Jaden doing this whole time??? Hanging out in her swing...for the most part, sleeping away!

Another fun activity that Rylie discovered...was flying the swifter broom around the house!

First day of Spring with Frosty

You gotta love Spring time in Colorado. We woke up to a foot of snow, and a lot of sunshine. So, after a walk to the playground across the street, we came back and built our very own Frosty the Snowman in our front yard. He will be our "greeter" for all who grace our front door...at least until the sun melts him away later today!

This was Rylie's first big snowman creation...and she had a blast. We were hunting around the house for sticks and stones to decorate him with. She was talking, hugging and singing to him throughout our building time, as if he was alive. So adorable!

Our gem: baby Jade

Three weeks old!

Like father, like daughter!

We are family!

We have longed for this day: to have a home that we can host our loved ones! Last night was sheer joy...to hear the cousins running around and playing upstairs, squealing with laughter...later to have the whole family sit around our dining room table, with the "kids table" nearby...to linger at dinner together. It was a great night, all in honor of our sister in law, Cyndi, who turned the big 25! Thank you for letting us celebrate you Cyndi!
